When and Where???
It was a discussion for so long but we just couldn't get that perfect date! Until it all turned out that we were going to another event, the Jozi Meet up and jumped in at the opportunity to use the date for our SA Bloggers Cafe meet up. It was perfect because so many members could make it.
After we got our schedule from Heather for the Jozi Meet up, we got down to business in planning. The lovely Jacqui from One Messy Mama put the whole event together in no time. I mean, she is a pro! She organised the entire SA Mommy Blogger Awards in just a couple of months. I am sure this was a breeze.
She organised us going to Moyo Zoo Lake and it was just incredible.
Moyo Zoo Lake
From the moment we arrived we were treated like tribal loyalty. When you get together with a bunch of ladies who you now call your friends, you want it to be perfect. The setting has to be right for the right atmosphere and vibe. Everything was perfect.
It all started with a hand washing ceremony which was so awesome. They served us their Winter Set Menu which will be available from May, 14th. It was a feast to say the least. You can choose if you want to go for the 2 Course Menu at R189.00. per person without drinks or the 3 Course Menu at R229.00 per person without drinks. The food was so much, we could hardly keep up.
Starter We were served with the Moyo bread platter which included crisp Moroccan flat bread drizzled with Olive oil and dukka spice and Tunisian flat bread with chickpea and chilli dip. My personal favorite was the soup. For me this is not of the norm... I don't like soup but this just worked for me. Their Turmeric Roasted Cauliflower Soup. It was so good, I am going to make it my mission this winter to find a recipe and make this at home. We were also served with:
Angolan Beef Bone Marrow Trinchado
Camarao Croquettes
Tunisian Wings. Everything so perfectly prepared, everything so devine that even when you don't have any more space left, you go for more.
Main For the main meal we went to the bufet. Such a beautiful African setting. The vibe is unbelievable and food just so overwhelming good looking. By this time we were all relatively full but I had to have some of the Currie as it's my absolute favorite, and it met all my expectations. You will find the following on the Moyo Winter Set Menu (Main):
4 African Lamb Chops
Seafood Samp Paella Potjie
West African Schnitzel
Whole Roasted Kuzi Aubergine We ate so much and everything was so delicious, I can't remember what we had and what I tasted. I just know everything was so perfect and cooked to perfection.
