Someone very close to my heart is really going through a difficult time right now. It's not easy to see him struggle the way he is struggling. It brakes my heart when I see him, I can literally see the world hanging on his shoulders.
He said something to me yesterday that got me thinking. He said he has never felt this alone in his entire life and I had to dispute that. I explained that in these difficult months of many challenges on his path he can really now go and count true friends on his one hand. It takes some people an entire lifetime and they never find out who is really a true friend and who is not. I also said to him that he has drawn so close to God and it's true, when times are hard we really seek God, don't get me wrong he is a child of God and loves God, always have but now, I mean he is spending so much time with God that you can't help but draw closer to Him.
The point I am trying to make is even if we feel so lonely because we are in a very dark place in our lives, there will be people around us holding candles. We are never alone! God is always with us and He will never forsake us. He loves us so much that He sends the right people on our paths to carry us when we can't walk anymore.
The beauty of being a child of God in a dark place is the light. And there is always light, God promises that. If we have faith and hold on to the truth that God has promised us, the outcome can only be one way. God needs to mold us and He needs to shape us for whatever plans He has for us and sometimes those paths are not easy but necessary. We can't always see the reason behind it but in the future, 2 months, 5 years, 20 years from now we will look back and we will see what God was teaching.
In the mean time we need to find our strength in God and know He is bigger than anything out there, no problem or struggle or obstacle is bigger than my God. I said to him you are going through this and yes you are finding your strength in God but don't forget to let the joy of the Lord be your strength. It's not easy to smile in hard times, but you know what, it's easier than being down. Don't allow the devil to steel your joy! He can come in and take everything from us but He can't take our peace, joy, hope, faith and love! Never!
So in conclusion I believe we all have struggles, we get down, we fall, but we get up and we finish the race with a smile. Don't ever feel like you are alone because God is always with us, and He always sends the right people at the right time with the right comfort!
