Just as I think I am going to take a bath or make myself a cup of tea, or just sit down I hear the word mommy! I don't know if kids have sensors that when mommies start thinking of something for themselves an alarm kicks in and they need something first.
Being a mom is one of the most selfless jobs I know, it's about giving giving giving and never taking 5, always being on guard, like a security guard at Buckingham palace or the national reserve bank. It's having eyes everywhere, catching those who fall and lifting those who are down. It's about making a way where there seems to be no way and it's about loving unconditionally. It's about fighting until you can't fight no more and then still fighting, it's about giving until you can't give anymore but you still give! It's about laughing and crying, it's mixed emotions but happy emotions. It's indescribable and something only God can give you! It's an honor and it's who we are.
Today we celebrate my moms birthday and I think of the big shoes I have to fit, and I realize what an honor it is to not just know this woman but to be her child.
It's hard to be a mommy but God loves us so much that He actually trusts us enough with His precious jewels. I will never stop praying for my kids but even more I will never stop praying for myself, to be the best mommy I can possibly be. It's an honor to be called a mom although I sometimes want to crawl into a hole and hide from the word.
The precious moments and cuddles make up for those sleepless nights and constant need.
