Exciting Developments in The Mad Loud House for 2025

From being a mom of four babies to now being a mom of three teens and one tween, life has changed in ways I never imagined. They once danced in my arms… now I find myself dancing in theirs. And let me just say it: as much as I didn’t realize it at the time, teenagers are way harder work than babies!
But I love where we are. I still love being “mom,” I still love making a fuss, but now I catch myself using teenage slang — words like “low key” or “locking it in” with some questionable finger signs that I’m pretty sure I’m not pulling off. The word “Mom, Mommy, Ma, Mams, Mommie” seems to echo through the house more than ever before.
Our days have shifted too. Those 5am baby wake-ups have turned into 3am chats, tears, and whispered prayers. Honestly, I feel more sleep-deprived now than I ever did when they were little — maybe that’s because I’m 16 years older.
We’re still homeschooling three (English) while one heads into high school (Afrikaans). This year hasn’t been easy — we’ve said goodbye to two cats, had my car stolen, and endured two floods at home. But I don’t want to sit in the negatives. Because we’ve also gained: a new pup named Ockley and, just this weekend, two brand new kittens, Ash and Khalisee. The nest keeps growing, filled with love (and a little chaos).
Do I have regrets? None. I’d do it all over again — though next time I might stock up on more vitamins and maybe add two more kids just for fun. Watching my kids grow has been a true blessing from God. To see them become best friend is a gift to any mom and that is one of the things that keeps me going.
Life right now? A mix of:
No sleep at night, sleep all day (the kids).
Camera bans because “Mom’s doing us dirty” (apparently my photos are not it).
Late-night laughs and hard talks.
The endless balancing act of being the adult — whether it’s warning them not to stick fingers in plugs or reminding them not to slam doors.
At the end of the day, it’s still The Mad Loud House. Messy, loud, funny, sometimes exhausting, always full of love.

Lots of love,💛
